The Mayor,
Bhadrapur Municipality,
Jhapa, Nepal
Subject: An appeal for involving the Children's
Representative in
Decision–Making Process
Dear Sir,
I am a resident of Bhadrpur Municipality – 1,
Diyalo Busty, and a student of Himali Secondary School. I would like to draw
your attention on behalf of the children living in my locality.
I have witnessed that many important decisions
discussed and finalized in our municipality certainly affect the children's
lives and their behaviors. When the children raise their views regarding them,
they are unheard and unnoticed. Taking such steps at such a level hinders the
development of the children. Therefore, it is very crucial to involve a
representative of children in such a decision-making process related to
children's issues in our municipality. Children in our locality suffer from
domestic violence and a lack of access to education, health facilities, and physical
activities.
Hence, I request that you make such a platform where
children of different ages can share their views and opinions. They can also
work together with local schools, parents, and community leaders for their
betterment. We, the children of this municipality, look forward to your positive
steps on it.
Your response is highly praiseworthy in this matter. We are eager to contribute to our community.
Yours faithfully,
Atib Limbu
